What clothing do you need for trail running?

To run in the mountains you need clothing that lasts longer than road kit. A technical top that breathes but withstands the rub of branches and pack, a mid-cuff sock that protects from mud and reduces blisters on long descents, and layers that keep you warm without getting in the way when the weather turns suddenly at altitude. Trail punishes clothing more than tarmac, so the priority isn't just weight, it's durability.

What is the difference between running and trail running?

The difference is the terrain and what it demands of the clothing. Road running rewards lightness and breathability on a smooth, predictable surface. Trail running adds mud, rocks, branches, elevation and sharp temperature swings, so the clothing needs more abrasion resistance, better thermal regulation and garments that don't give up in tough conditions. If you run in the city or on the road, look at the running collection. If you run in the mountains, this is yours.

Why does the sock matter so much in trail?

In trail, the sock is the garment that suffers most and prevents the most injuries. Long descents, a foot swollen by distance and the entry of dirt and water multiply the risk of blisters just when you're far from home. A technical mid-cuff sock, with compression and flat seams, holds the foot, wicks moisture and reduces friction where it hurts most. It's the small piece that decides how you finish an ultra.

Yes. Mooquer is a Spanish brand with a physical store in Oviedo and production split between Spain, Italy and Portugal. We work in short runs, with European fabrics, and we don't run sales: the product is sold at its price all year round. The mountains don't forgive bad clothing. That's why we make it the way we do.
