Technical Sports Socks

Socks were Mooquer's first product, and they're still the one that best sums up how we understand sportswear: technical, durable and made in Spain. This collection brings together all our technical sports socks, non-slip and breathable, made for cycling, running and trail, not to fill a drawer.

What sets a technical sock apart from a normal one

A technical sports sock is not a thicker cotton sock. The yarn changes, wicking sweat instead of holding it, the fabric changes, with ventilation and reinforcement zones, and the hold changes, with compression across the arch so it doesn't shift inside the shoe. A cotton sock gets soaked, gets heavy and causes blisters. A technical one keeps the foot dry and in place kilometre after kilometre.

What non-slip socks are

They're the socks with extra grip on the sole or the arch that stops the foot from moving inside the shoe. In sport, that micro-slipping is the main cause of blisters and of lost efficiency on every push. Our technical socks build in that hold so the foot and the shoe work as a single piece.

Compression socks, what they're for

Graduated compression squeezes a little more at the ankle and eases upward, aiding venous return. In practice it means less swelling and less leg fatigue on long efforts, and a slightly faster recovery afterwards. Not all our socks are compression, so if that's what you're after, filter for it or look at the compression collection.

What height to choose for socks

Height is mostly aesthetic and about discipline. In cycling the high cuff is almost a code, and it also protects from the sun and from chafing. In running and trail some prefer a mid cuff or ankle. The technical function is the same; the height is your choice.

Which discipline to choose them for

They share the same technical base, but each discipline has its version. In cycling the high cuff and breathability rule, in running lightness and flat seams, and in trail reinforcement and hold for the mountains.
