TWENTY THOUSAND KILOMETERS THAT THIS WOOL DOES NOT MAKE

TWENTY THOUSAND KILOMETERS THAT THIS WOOL DOES NOT MAKE

Sweat doesn't smell. What smells is what grows in it when it spends hours in a confined, warm, and damp place. A winter cycling shoe is exactly that.

The insole of the Ember features Micotecnic silver, a fiber with genuine silver integrated into the yarn and not applied on top as a finish. A finish washes away; a fiber does not.

Its antibacterial activity is measured by an independent laboratory according to AATCC 100, the industry standard test for this type of fiber.
19-Micron Spanish Merino Wool

19-Micron Spanish Merino Wool

The Merino sheep is Spanish. For centuries, it was the engine of the Castilian economy, and exporting it from the country was forbidden. When it finally left, it ended up in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, and today that is where most of the world's Merino wool is produced.

Almost all the Merino wool worn by a European cyclist has crossed half the planet before reaching the loom. The Ember's hasn't.

53% Spanish Merino wool at 19 microns. Microns measure the thickness of the fiber, and below 22, the wool flexes against the skin instead of folding. That is what separates a sock you can wear for four hours from one that bothers you.
